Biography:
Maleah Welsh is from the Santa Cruz area, has lived and worked in several countries, and plans to work internationally as a documentary filmmaker and photographer. They are currently finishing a BA at San Francisco State University in Cinema. Their research interests and plans for the MFA include working in single channel film, still photography, and socially engaged/collaborative production practices within unhoused communities. They have already been conducting in-person research and photography within a Santa Cruz community of people who are unhoused.
