Biography: 
Jon Ayon is a Mestizo (Comcáac/Nahua-Salvadoreño/Xicano) writer/director/editor whose work explores the Mestize/Latine-“American” experience with a critical focus on broken Indigenous kinship systems, internalized racism, cultural xenophobia, Ulysses syndrome, and generational trauma. He earned a B.A. in Cinema from San Francisco State and an MFA in Documentary from Stanford University and his work has earned him recognition and support from Francis and Roman Coppola, The Annenberg Foundation, SFFILM, NewFilmmakers LA, Points North Institute, IDA, Full Frame, Avenida TV, & Sundance. As an editor, Ayon has edited films for Actual Films, Nia Tero, Liminal Films, Vitamin Sea, Persistent Visions, Endangered Ideas, Visual Communications, as well as edited several podcasts and videos for the All My Relations Podcast.
