Catalina Jeanneret Calderón

Biography: 
Catalina Jeanneret Calderón is from Chile and has a BA in History with an Anthroplogy/Audiovisual minor from Pontifica University in Santiago. They work as a photographer and filmmaker making projects that blend archival material, stills, and film about Chilean culture and pre-Columbian heritage and have been involved in organizing, art, and journalism projects about a range of subjects such as post-dictatorship issues in Chile, the 2019 Protests, and an abandoned coal mine. They came to UCSC in 2018 to study in HAVC, History of Consciousness and Feminist Studies and their proposed MFA thesis will explore the questions of who feels safe at night.
