Biography:
Akiva Schaffer is a writer for Saturday Night Live and a founding member of The Lonely Island, a sketch comedy group originating on the Internet that includes SNL featured player, Andy Samburg, also a former F&DM student, and SNL writer Jorma Taccone. Schaffer directs, co-writes and edits the majority of SNL Digital Shorts, including the famed “Dick in a Box” for which he won an Emmy Award. Schaffer also directed the film HOT ROD starring Sandberg and produced by Lorne Michaels, and THE WATCH starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade. Schaffer, Samburg and Taccone will begin developing a Lonely Island film with Universal Pictures, with Judd Apatow producing.
