Screening and Q&A with artist

Jeanne Finley is a media artist who works in experimental and documentary forms including film, video, photography, installation, internet, and site specific public works. Her work has been exhibited in international institutions including the Guggenheim Museum, SFMOMA and New York Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. She has been the recipient of many grants including a Rockefeller Media Arts Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, Creative Capital Foundation, CalArts/Alpert Award, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and the Phelan Award. Her recent projects weave a discursive cinematic fabric of dramatic narrative, documentary interviews, scientific evidence, archival and original footage to investigate sites of transformative events.  Her process moves between affective and analytic registers, allowing them to inform and challenge one another.  The resulting films, installations, and social engagement projects employ collaborations with artists, scientists, audience and subject.
