Q&A with director Marc Smolowitz following screening

Half-Japanese twin sisters Anabel Stenzel and Isabel Stenzel Byrnes embody the notion of sisterhood and cross-cultural stewardship in The Power of Two. Engaged in a life-long battle with the fatal genetic disease cystic fibrosis, the duo have defied all odds to become authors, athletes and global advocates who have raised awareness for a debilitating condition. During their journey to find replacements for their own failing lungs, the sisters soon discovered that the rates of organ donation in their mother’s homeland of Japan are shockingly low. The pair then resolved to make their personal battle a public one in an effort to shed light upon the disparities of organ donation worldwide. The Power of Two is also a celebration of the indomitable  human spirit and the unique drive that has motivated these two to pursue change for all.
