Konrad Korabiewski

Research Interests: 

Danish | Polish | Icelandic Konrad Korabiewski is an award-winning experimental composer, sound and media artist working worldwide and currently residing in California and East Iceland. He works across genres in sound art, film music, installations, radio, video and multi-media to create art works which have a strong site-specific element. 

Konrad Korabiewski was awarded the prestigious Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD academic  award & residency grant and is one of the winners of Europe – A Sound Panorama international sound-art competition. His work has also been supported by numerous residencies across the world such as at the Institute for Music and Sound at the Centre for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe (ZKM). He was nominated for the European Sound Art Award (formerly known as Deutsche Klangkunst-Preis) and the Marler Videokunst-Preis in Germany in 2014. Korabiewski holds a Master in Electronic Music Composition from The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Denmark. He is founder and currently the director of Skálar | Sound Art | Experimental Music, Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland and a member of Danish Composers’ Society since 2004.
