Rana Aljarbou

M.F.A. in Social Documentation (2015), M.A. in Film and Digital Media (2020)
Biography:
Rana has been researching and documenting graffiti and street art across the Arab world since 2007 in search for a counter-narrative for the Arab identity. Her ongoing project, 1001 Walls, which has spanned twelve countries so far gives voice to society's silent cries, highlighting issues of censorship and the politics of space. Her thesis project explores the city of Riyadh, as seen through the lens of a young male joyrider, and the lens of a woman, herself. It visualizes the city sprawl through driving with no direction.
