Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Juan DáVila started on the film industry since 2006 by directing/producing short films, music videos and working as a production and camera assistant for both local and Hollywood films shot in Puerto Rico. Always keeping an interest on social and environmental issues, he founded Frutos Fílmicos, INC in 2011 along with other colleagues to create films that create social and environmental awareness. On 2012 he lands his first distribution deal with Cinema Libre Studio with his first documentary feature "Compañeros de lucha". He is currently studying an M.A. in Social Documentation at University of California, Santa Cruz.
