Documentary film made by the students of FILM 175 Winter 2018
Two screenings at the Santa Cruz Film Festival
Santa Cruz County is currently the fourth least affordable housing market in the world. Santa Cruz home values have shot up 8.6% in the past year and on track to reach an average price of $892,000 by January of 2019. Collectively produced by a group of 19 UCSC student filmmakers, At Capacity is a timely look at the housing crisis in Santa Cruz. Documenting the local rent freeze campaign from signature gathering to city council vote, high end real estate tours, Santa Cruz’s growing homeless tent encampment, tiny home dwellers, new construction, housing lawyers at work, and much more, At Capacity weaves together a complex portrait at the issues that affect local housing.
AT CAPACITY will be screening on:
- Thursday, October 4th, 2:30pm at the Hotel Paradox Ballroom
- Saturday, October 6th, 12:00pm at the Colligan Theater
