Screening: "No Más Bebés"

Join us for a screening of "No Más Bebés" hosted by B. Ruby Rich

Social Documentation Professor B. Ruby Rich will be hosting a screening of /No Más Bebés/ (2015) by ex-UCSC Professor Renee Tajima-Peña, who now the UCLA Professor of Asian American Studies, holds the Alumni and Friends of Japanese American Ancestry Endowed Chair, and directs the Center for EthnoCommunications. This is a free public screening of the documentary, which looks at the forced sterilization of Latina women in Los Angeles in the 1960s and 70s. Open to all students and faculty.  

Note that Tajima-Peña will not be present for this screening. She will come to UCSC later in the week for the Living Writers series on Thursday 26 October at 5:20-6:50 in Humanities Lecture Hall 206, where she will be showing clips and discussing her process. Curated by Prof. Karen Yamashita, this year's Living Writers series has the theme, "Beyond the Wall: War, Refuge, and Home."
