FDM Open Space for Community Support

Thu, Nov 10, 2016, 12:00 am to Fri, Nov 18, 2016, 12:00 am
Location:
Communications 139

Message to the FDM community from FDM Faculty and Staff.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The aftermath of Tuesday’s election has left many in special need of the solace and support of community.  The Film and Digital Media Department is a safe and welcoming place for people of color, as well as members of the indigenous, LGBTQ, women-identified, undocumented, Muslim and Jewish communities and their allies. For today Thursday, Nov. 10 until 6:00pm and next week Monday - Friday 9am-6pm, we will make Communications 139 and our building common spaces, during the times when they are not already reserved (please see below), as gathering spaces for the campus community. We ask only that you maintain an attitude of welcome and care for all who enter, and that you show consideration for our staff by leaving the room as you found it.

In the coming days and weeks, we will continue to work together to find ways to support our communities.
