Megan Prelinger is a cultural historian and archivist. She is the co-founder of the Prelinger Library in San Francisco, an independent research facility that promotes reading, inspiration, and reuse as its ethos. It is a community oriented space that specializes in unconventional resources and that attracts local and international artists, writers, activists, and other makers. The library houses an extensive collection of 19th and 20th century historical ephemera, periodicals, maps, and books, mostly published in the United States. Prelinger is also the author of two books: Another Science Fiction: Advertising the Space Race 1957–1962 and Inside the Machine: Art and Invention in the Electronic Age.
