UCSC film alum Jacob Aaron Estes (class of 1994, best known for directing Mean Creek) returns to campus for a special advance screening of his latest feature release, The Details, starring Tobey Magurie and Elizabeth Banks. Estes will be on hand for a Q&A after the film.
After ten years of marriage, Jeff and Nealy Lang live in an idyllic suburban home, but their relationship is on the skids. Complicating matters, a family of hungry raccons ransacks their perfectly manicured backyard, and Jeff becomes single-mindedly obsessed with eradicating the pest by any means necessary. This man vs. beast battle leads to an absurd mess of infidelity, extortion, organ donation, and other assorted mayhem. Also starring Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, and Kerry Washington.
