Recent Faculty Awards for Renee Tajima-Peña and John Leaños

Professor John Jota Leaños will receive a 2011 Individual Artist Commission Grant in Media from the San Francisco Arts Commission for his documentary animation project on the makings of the southwest borderlands.

Professor Renee Tajima-Peña received a grant from the Latino Public Broadcasting Public Media Content Fund for the production of her documentary about the Madrigal v. Quilligan sterilization case.

John Jota Leaños and Renee Tajima-Peña were selected to participate in the newly launched USA Projects, the first micro-philanthropy website for artists launched by United States Artists, the national grant-making and advocacy organization.
