Dean’s Awards are granted to 50 undergraduates who have completed an outstanding senior thesis or project during the current academic year. Each recipient will receive a $100 cash award, and will be considered for a Chancellor’s and Steck Award. Winners will be honored at the Student Achievement Awards ceremony. The names of the winners will also be announced at graduation.
~~~GUIDELINES~~~
Submit completed projects and application forms no later than Friday, April 8, 2011, to the Department or Program office in which the project was done. Application forms are available on-line (see below)
- All submissions must contain the completed application form.
- All submissions must include one supporting statement by the faculty sponsor.
- Foreign language projects must be accompanied by appropriate translation.
- Technical papers (hard copy and CD copy) must be accompanied by an abstract in non-technical language.
- All other submissions (hard copy and CD copy) must be accompanied by a one page narrative description.
- Musical works must be accompanied by a recording of a performance of the work.
- Visual art works must be accompanied by photographs of the work in addition to the work itself (if portable).
- Performing art works may be accompanied by a CD of the recording of a performance of the work, but such recordings are not required.
- Previous award winners are eligible only for projects in a completely different area.
