The Film and Digital Media Department has a broad variety of production, classroom, and screening spaces, spread across three academic buildings: the Communications Building, Kresge College Academic Center, and the Westside Research Park.

Classroom A (Communications 130)
Small theater screening room with raised theater style seating; High definition video/data projection; Mac Pro (Cylinder) with 23″ LED display; all region dvd player; all region Blu-ray player, foreign standard VHS; 7.1 Dolby digital and DTS surround sound; laptop interface connection.
Theater C (Communications 150)
Large theater with 95 seat capacity; 7.1 Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound system; High definition video and data projection; Mac Mini computer; dual 16mm film projection w/electronic change-over (pre-arrange use with Operations); all region dvd player/Blu-ray player; foreign standard VHS player; laserdisc player; 2 wireless lapel microphones; 2 handheld microphones, ListenTech listening assistance device, document camera, laptop interface connection.
Screening Room (Communications 119)
High definition video and data projection; Mac Mini computer with wireless keyboard and mouse; all region dvd player; all region Blu-ray player; foreign standard VHS player; laserdisc player; 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound; laptop interface connection.
Seminar Rooms (Communications 117 & 121)

Production Spaces
Capture Stage B (Communications 140)
Large production studio with broadcast green screen and lighting grid. Equipped with three classes of tungsten based lighting instruments: fresnels in graduated intensities, flood lights, and strip lights specifically for green screen illumination.
Computer Lab (Communications 011)
Thirteen (13) station lab featuring twelve (12) iMacs with 27″ 5K LED displays; Instructor station featuring Mac Pro (Cylinder) with 24″ LED display; two (2) Blu-Ray Burners; High definition video and data projection; Stereo audio sound system; laptop interface connection. MORE INFORMATION
Studio D (Communications 113)

Transfer Room (Communications 135)
Three (3) iMacs with 27″ LED displays with attached video and audio format transfer hardware, including: Hi-8, Mini DV, DVCAM, S-VHS, VHS, Cassette Tape, and one flatbed scanner for scanning photographic prints and documents.
Voiceover Room (Communications 134A)
Neumann TL103 large diaphragm condenser studio microphone with Avalon M5 Preamplifier with attached pop filter and reflexion filter; connected to a Mac Mini computer through the Apogee Duet 2 USB Analog-to-Digital device. Note: this space is not intended for video editing.
Animation/Video Editing Lab (Communications 201)
Four (4) iMacs with 27″ 5K LED displays with stop motion animation software Dragonframe as well as complete video editing software package. When animation courses are being taught Nikon D750 cameras w/Macro Lens are tethered to the computers from copy stands with variable lumen LED lights.
Edit Rooms (Communications 203 & 204)
iMac with 27″ 5K LED display and 23″ 1080p LCD Preview display; External Stereo Speakers.
Graduate Edit Rooms (Communications 205 & 206)
iMac with 27″ 5K LED display and secondary Wacom Cintiq 24″ Tablet Monitor; Blu-Ray Burner; External Stereo Speakers.
