Description:
This seminar explores speculative fiction and future worlds focusing on Indigenous Futurism, Afrofuturism, Chicanx Futurism, and mainstream/Indie science fiction film, art, media, music and literature. We will consider intersecting discourses on science, technology, colonization, race, gender, class and sexuality. Students will imagine their own future worlds and will create video, animation, podcasts, graphic novels, short stories, etc.
