Biography:
In the Philippines, the future of the nation is in the hands of the youth. Sounds of the New Hope documents the journey of Kiwi, a Filipino American rapper, as he returns to his motherland to integrate with youth activists in the struggle for national democracy. During his political exposure trip, he finds that hip-hop is a vibrant part of urban poor youth culture and helps the local organizers to utilize it to raise the political consciousness of the youth.
