Peter Schweigert

Research Interests: 

Peter Schweigert holds a PhD in Visual Studies from UC Irvine and an MFA in Film Studies from Boston University.  His interests lie in questions of cinematic signification and experience, theories of representation, visual analysis, and the relationship between the arts, their spectator, and the world.  He explored these in the intersection of experimental film and discourse of the sacred in his dissertation, A World Apart: Apophasis and Avisuality in the American Avant-Garde
