Maricar Camaya

Maricar Camaya was born and raised around a large Filipin@ American community in Southeast San Diego. He attended Oberlin College and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and left with a degree in Comparative American Studies and a passion for the arts and community building. Since then, Maricar has worked with multiple media arts-related and non-profit organizations in San Diego as a freelance videographer and recently received a special commendation from the City of San Diego’s Human Relations Commission for his documentary and community work. Maricar wishes to continue inspiring positive social changes and highlighting diverse experiences through visual storytelling and community service. He enjoys boogie boarding, hiking in Santa Cruz and watching videos of Corgis.
